Please post your ideas for improving PCAT on this page

  • Clean up the dashboard
  • Fix the issue with the "quote marks" on searches
  • The highlighting from search results should be sticky so that it is not lost in the reader or coder modules. A search result needs to produce a permanent mark on the text that can be enabled or disabled at any time. While coding or reading, these accumulated points of visual emphasis could be color coded, and filtered by my searches, my project peer searches, any person who ever did a search in the crowd source commons.
  • Creation of a shareable/reusable electronic "code book" that allows you to define, save, and share codes for a project or across multiple projects. This would make it easier for a manager to update and transfer specific ideas of codes to the coders.
  • Use the left tool bar for more Navigation (the whole list of pages, maybe) to declutter some of the main page. We have both headers and footers with navigation and the one at the bottom kind of gets lost in the midst of all the copyright/credits for the project.
  • ...
  • When editing the professional tab within the updating account information page, you are able to add up to 3 affiliations. But each time you press the + button it brings you back to the profile tab. This is awkward. You should be able to stay on the professional tab. it feels like a glitch. - ACTUALLY WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT EVERY TIME YOU UPDATE ANYTHING HERE, IT SENDS YOU BACK TO THE PROFILE TAB. (feels weird)

  • When you are updating your account info, the 4th tab is preferences and you have the option to change the theme. The only snafu is that you really only have on once choice - which is default. Maybe it is because my "texifter" account level, but I think you don't have a choice of "theme" (whatever that means here) it shouldn't be there at all.
  • Under account settings, it seems very odd that two buttons are there, no matter which tab you are looking at: There is always an "update information" button as well as a "delete account" button. First, The update information button is totally useless, it just sends you back to the profile tab. If you're on this page, you're already there to update your information. This button should go. As for "delete account", something as irreversible and potentially detrimental as deleting your account deserves its own tab, in my opinion. Certainly, it should not be present at the bottom of the page, each time you click one of the tabs.
  • After you've de-duplicated and created clusters, the only way to rename the cluster is to click it first then click the little ab icon. THIS IS NOT INTUITIVE. You should be able to change the cluster name the same way you change the bucket name: by clicking the arrow to the left of the cluster/bucket name and pressing a button that says "change name".
  • After a bookmark was added, a second bookmark cannot be immediately made in the same window although there is a message below shows "Feel free to add another or close this window."
  • While adding a bookmark, when typing in the name of an existing code to the "Code(s)" blank space, the page either jumps to Run-time error or the bookmark window maximizes, the "Go back one page" button doesn't function, there is no access to the previous page.
  • The term "Global Peer Groups" should maybe be changed. At first it gave me the idea that these were PCAT groups that people could join to find other users with similar wants/needs/datasets (kinda like a Facebook group or Google group). Instead it is a users personal grouping of their network peers.
  • Also, Global Peer Groups don't seem to do anything right now. I think they could be powerful to add multiple peers' to a project, change their permissions, assign them coding, etc. With a large project it would be nice to set 20 people in a "coding group" to a project as a unit instead of 1 by 1.
