PCAT ingests bulk downloads from the Federal Docket Management System (FDMS)

A core function of PCAT is to ingest archives (ex., .zip files) that contain bulk downloads from the US Federal Docket Management System (FDMS). PCAT also handles collections of e-mails bulk exported from Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes, or other email clients. There are also XML, Microsoft Excel, CAT-style, and generic .csv file ingest options.

Three simple steps to ingest your archive

Once you have created a project, click the "Import Archive" button on the Project Management page. "FDMS Archive File" is the default on the drop-down menu (these are "bulk downloads from Regulations.Gov), but you can also upload CAT-style datasets, .txt, .csv, .xls, XML and RSS files. You have the option to name your archive, otherwise it will use the file name. Click on the "Upload" button.

Any text dataset properly formatted (.txt, XML, HTML) can be uploaded in the PCAT system.
